VITEEE 2015

VITEEE 2015 is the entrance exam which would be conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology to admit candidates in engineering undergraduate courses for the session 2015-16. Candidates shall be admitted in Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Technology courses, as per their performance in the exam. The exam will be conducted in online mode from 8 to 19 April 2015 and they have to mark their responses using mouse. VITEEE 2015 Eligibility Criteria

The VITEEE eligibility criteria needs to be fulfilled to be eligible for B.Tech admission in VIT University. Candidate must ensure that they are eligible for the exam before applying. The following points highlight the eligibility criteria for VITEEE 2015.

  • Nationality: Applicant must be an Indian citizen. Candidate can be resident or Non resident Indian national.
  • Educational qualification: Candidate should either have completed class 10+2 and appeared in the exams, or will be appearing before the VITEEE 2015. Boards recognized centrally such as CBSE, ISCE, Pre university exam, state boards candidates are eligible.
  • Minimum class 12 percentage: Applicant should have obtained at least 60% in aggregate of PCM/B. In case of SC / ST / JnK / NE states can qualify with aggregate percentage of 50%.
  • Age limit: Candidate should be born on or after July 1, 1993.

Please note

  • The candidates who have studied Mathematics in class 10+2 are eligible for all the fourteen under graduate engineering courses.
  • Whereas the candidates who have studied PCB (biology) are eligible for only B.Tech in Bio medical engineering and Biotechnology.

VITEEE 2015 Application Form

Eligible candidates can apply from December 2014. Online form and offline (OMR) forms will be available. VIT University will shortly announce the commencement and end of form submission dates. Detailed step wise How to apply online for VITEEE 2015 guidelines are also issued for the convenience of candidates. Candidates are requested to beware of middlemen. You can apply from any place of your convenience online.

  • Apply online at VITEEE 2015 official website www.vit.ac.in.
  • Enter details as asked in the form. Please ensure you enter correct and verifiable details. Such as date of birth should be exactly as mentioned in class 10 mark sheet.
  • Submit application fee using internet banking or credit/debit card. In case you do not have these facilities, you may chose to pay via Demand Draft.
  • Upload soft copies of passport size photograph and signature.
  • The mobile number and email ID you enter should be valid. All communication from VIT University regarding VITEEE 2015 application form, admit card will be sent on email or SMS.

VITEEE 2015 Online Test Booking System and Admit Card

Candidates who apply successfully can schedule their test date and slot. The VITEEE OTBS is the online test booking system facility started by VIT University. The computer based tests are held over a few days duration and in different time slots. Candidates can chose slots available in their nearby test centres.

  • Log in to VITEEE OTBS using application number and password.
  • Select the city you wish to appear in.
  • Chose a preferred test date to appear for VIT Engineering Entrance Exam.
  • Available slots will be shown. You can select any as per availability.
  • On successful booking, e-hall ticket for VITEEE 2015 will be displayed.
  • Print the VITEEE 2015 Admit Card and keep it safely. It will be required on the day of exam.

VITEEE 2015 Exam Pattern – Number of questions, marking scheme, and other details of the exam.

The exam pattern of VITEEE 2015 indicates the type of engineering entrance exam question paper. The key points to be noted regarding the exam pattern are as follows.

  • The test will be held in online mode as computer based test.
  • Duration of exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes.
  • There will be 120 questions in the paper.
  • 40 questions each will be asked in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology sections.
  • Candidates appearing for PCM paper will have 120 questions of PCM.
  • Candidates appearing in PCB paper will have to answer 120 questions of PCB.
  • The marking scheme is +1 for correct answer, and no negative marking for incorrect answer.

VITEEE 2015 cut off indicates the minimum score or rank required for admission. While appearing for the exam, candidates often ask about the expected cut offs. They are keen to know how much marks to score to get admission in VIT. With the help of past year data analysis, and knowing facts and figures; we can point out the following.

  • Competition is very high. More than 1,50,000 students appear for the exam whereas there are only a few thousand seats.
  • As it is a computer based test, immediately after the exam no predictions can be made.
  • Computer science (CSE) and Electronics and communication engineering (ECE) are the two most popular branches among students.
  • Among Vellore and Chennai campus, a higher rank is generally needed for VIT Vellore.
  • In the first counselling, students up to rank 20,000 are called.

VITEEE 2015 results will be published by the university approximately 10 days after the last date of exam.

VITEEE 2015 Admit Card

VITEEE 2015 E-ADMIT CARD

  • The e-Admit card will be generated once the candidate has booked his/her schedule through the Online Test Booking System.
  • The e-Admit card will be auto generated for only those candidates who book a slot using the Online Test Booking system before the last date.
  • The e-Admit card will indicate the e-Admit card number, photograph of the student, address of the test center, test date & time selected by the candidate. Discrepancies, if any, must be brought to the notice of VIT University immediately.
  • The e-Admit card will be made available for candidates on www.vit.ac.in. Candidate should provide the application form number and Online Test Booking password to download the e-admit card.
  • The copy of the e-Admit card will also be emailed to the candidate.
  • Candidates must provide valid email ID in the application form. The e-Admit card will not be dispatched to candidates via post or fax.
  • Candidate should ensure that a printer is connected to their computer while printing the e-Admit card.
  • Candidate should take a print out of the e-Admit card using the print option on A4 size paper only. Please ensure that all information on the e-Admit card including photograph is clearly visible.
  • The candidate will not be permitted to appear for the test without valid e-Admit card.
  • The candidates must not mutilate the e-Admit card or change any entry made therein after it has been authenticated & received by them. Impersonation is a legally punishable offence.
  • The e-Admit card is an important document and it must be preserved and produced at the time of counselling/admission.

    Admit card will not be processed if the Application is incomplete:

  • In the case of an eligible candidate, whose application form is incomplete (For eg. Declaration not signed, no signature below the photograph, photograph not affixed on the application form, address not clearly written, invalid email id etc.), the application will not be processed for the issue of an Admit Card. VIT does not take the responsibility to inform such candidates.
  • Candidates are advised to doubly check that the application form (online / OMR) is complete in all respects before posting.

VITEEE 2015 Computer Based Test

VITEEE 2015 ONLINE TEST BOOKING SYSTEM

  • Online Test booking system is a web based online scheduling system available at www.vit.ac.in
  • Candidate should first choose the Test City (this should be the same as chosen in the application form) and then the date and the batch for the exams.
  • The schedule bookings are done on a first-come first-served basis and are subject to the availability of the test Centre, date and time.

    VITEEE 2015 Online Test Booking password

  • For both OMR and online applications, the password will be sent by email to the email address mentioned in the application form. Therefore it is mandatory to give valid email address.
  • University will not be responsible for non receipt of the email, if the email address given is incomplete or incorrect.
  • The security of your Online Test Booking Password is totally your responsibility. VIT University will not be held accountable or responsible for any claim or loss that results directly or indirectly from any unauthorized use or misuse of your online test booking password.
  • The Online Test Booking Password must be kept confidential. Do not disclose it to others or write them down or store them in a file on your computer or as autosave password.
  • Your Online Test Booking Password is required only for the purpose of booking a schedule given by the University.
  • Please note that the online test booking system will not allow the candidates to book a slot after the booking end date.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS PERTAINING TO VITEEE -2015 CBT
Computer Based Test Procedure

  • The candidates must ensure that the computer allotted to them is switched on and any problem of the computer should be informed to the invigilator immediately.
  • The questions appearing on the screen will be in English. All questions will be of the Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) type. Each MCQ consists of a stem which may be in the form of a question or an incomplete statement and four responses labeled A, B, C and D. Only one of the four responses is the correct answer.
  • Candidate needs to choose that answer. Candidates can navigate freely through the questions back and forth.

    Important Note

  • The number of examination days will be estimated based on the total number of applications received for the particular group of courses and the test centre choices given by the candidates in the application form.
  • In the rare and unlikely event of a technical failure during the test, the candidate may be required to attempt the test again. Candidate must visit www.vit.ac.in regularly to obtain latest news, information and updates on the entrance test.
  • VIT reserves the rights to reschedule the examination for a candidate. In rare and unlikely event of a technical failure during the test, the candidate may be required to attempt the test again. The candidate will not be charged any additional entrance exam fee if the re-schedule is initiated from VIT. However, the candidate has to make his/her own arrangements at his/her cost similar to the original schedule to take the test for the revised schedule.

ONLINE TEST BOOKING PROCEDURE

  • While booking your test schedule, please ensure that you have a photocopy of the application form you submitted and the Online Test Booking Password
  • After logging into the Online Test Booking System you have to select the test you wish to apply for i.e. you have to select Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics or Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology from the drop down menu to proceed further.
  • A slot once booked cannot be changed. Request for change of test city, date or slot will not be entertained under any circumstances.
  • The online test booking system is available only for those eligible candidates who have submitted the application forms complete in all respects on or before the last date mentioned.
  • It is the responsibility of the candidate to book their test schedule in ONLINE TEST BOOKING SYSTEM within the given time frame. VIT will not be held accountable for the non bookings. The entrance test fee will not be refunded under any circumstances for such cases.
  • The confirmation mail will be automatically sent to the candidate’s email address after he/she has booked his/her schedule through the Online Test Booking System.
  • Also once the booking is complete the e-Admit card will be generated which needs to be printed by the student from our website www.vit.ac.in

The Application Forms will be issued from 1st December, 2014.

The Prospectus and the information brochure for the B.Tech. Degree programme – 2015, along with the necessary enclosures which include the Application Form and a printed self-addressed envelope, can be obtained against cash payment of  990/- from the various List of Post Offices as given.

How to fill VITEEE 2015 Application Form Online

VITEEE 2015 : INSTRUCTIONS TO FILL ONLINE APPLICATION FORM

Stage 1-Registration

  • Provide all the relevant details carefully
  • It is mandatory to provide valid email id and mobile number as the password will be sent to the registered Mobile number and email id
  • Candidates Name, Date of Birth and email id cannot be changed after filling
  • Candidate Date of Birth should be on or after 01.07.1993
  • Immediately after registration, a password will be sent to your mobile number and email
  • Proceed to Step 2 with the received password

Stage 2-Confirmation of password

  • Enter the email id and password received from VIT to proceed for filling the online application

Stage 3- Filling up of online application form

  • Refer the Information Brochure carefully, before filling the online application form
  • Provide all the relevant details carefully
  • Field marked with an asterisk * are mandatory
  • NRI/PIO/OCI candidates can also apply directly through Direct Admission to B.Tech. programme without appearing for VITEEE-2015. Kindly refer the website for details
  • Foreign candidates are not eligible to apply for VITEEE-2015
  • Change of Test City and the Slot once booked cannot be changed under any circumstances
  • Press submit button after checking the details carefully
  • An application number will be generated immediately after submission

Stage 4-Selection of Mode of payment

  • Choose the Payment Mode as per your preference .

    Payment through Online Gateway

    • For Payment through online Mode, be ready with Net Banking / Debit Card / Credit Bank details
    • During the payment process, DO NOT press backspace or Refresh button inorder to avoid double charges/payment error
    • On successful completion of transaction, kindly take the printout copy of the application for your reference
    • Do not send the hardcopy of the application form after uploading the Photograph and Signature.

    For Transaction not successful due to network issues / display of error page :

    • For Transaction found not successful, even after the amount deducted from your account, please wait for 3 working days. You can proceed further, after getting the mail from VIT.
    • In case of transaction found incomplete after 4 working days, send a mail to ugadmission@vit.ac.in

    For Payment through Demand Draft Mode

    • For Payment through Demand Draft Mode, get ready with DD for Rs.940/- (50 USD for NRI candidates) drawn in favour of ‘VIT University’, payable at Vellore.
    • In case, if you are not ready with the Demand Draft at the time of submission of application form, you can ‘logout’ from the screen and you can resume from the same payment screen through Step 2, by login with the email id and password
    • It is mandatory to send the hardcopy of the application form along with the DD after uploading the photograph and signature to the address of Director-UG Admissions, VIT University, Vellore – 632014, Tamilnadu.
    • Write your name, application number and mobile number on the reverse side of the Demand Draft

    Stage 5. Photograph / Signature Upload

    • Softcopy (scanned copy) of recently taken passport size colour photograph with 10 kb – 200 kb (Dimensions -3.5 cm x 4.5 cm ) in JPG / JPEG format
    • Softcopy (scanned copy) of signature of the candidate with 10 kb – 200 kb (Dimensions – 6 cm (width) x 2 cm height) in JPG/ JPEG format


    Stage 6. Download the filled-out Application form

VITEEE 2015 SCHEDULE, PATTERN & LANGUAGE

Schedule of VITEEE-2015 – Computer Based Test (CBT)

  • VIT Engineering Entrance Examination will be conducted from 8th April to 19th April 2015
  • The duration of the entrance examination will be 2 hours 30 minutes.
  • Please refer slot booking for further details in www.vit.ac.in from March ‘2015 onwards

Pattern of the Entrance Examination

  • Question Paper: All Questions will be of OBJECTIVE TYPE
  • PART-I – Physics / PART-II – Chemistry / PART-III – Mathematics / Biology
  • Candidates attempting Physics,Chemistry & Mathematics are eligible for all 15 Programmes offered.
  • Candidates attempting Physics,Chemistry & Biology are eligible for B.Tech Bio-Medical Engineering,Biotechnology and Computer Science and Engg(Spec.in Bioinformatics) programmes only.
  • The selection of pattern (Physics/ Chemistry /Mathematics or Biology) has to be decided at the time of slot booking (March 2015).
  • All the questions will be mostly from the State Board of Higher Secondary Education and the CBSE syllabus only.
  • Each part has 40 questions and each question carries one mark.
  • Each question is followed by 4 alternative answers. The candidate will have to choose the correct answer and click the same.
  • No negative marks for wrong answers.

  • Question paper will be in English only.
